Asko Pohla has graduated Cum Laude from Tartu University, Faculty of Law in 1989. He has a diploma practice from Sofia University and a LL.M from Georgetown University. He was admitted to the Estonian Bar Association in 1995 and in 1996 in the International Bar Association, section of commercial law and section of arbitration.
He has an extensive experience in litigation and arbitration, contract and property, commercial law, customs and marine law, include ship arrested. He also has experience in the following fields: Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, arbitrator; Estonian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Arbitration Court, Board member and since 2007 Chairman of The professional suitability assessment committee of the Estonian Bar Association.
He has participated in the creation of several drafts Acts: Law of Foreign Investment, Arbitration Act (head of the committee), Code of Civil Litigation, Turism Act.
He founded Pohla & Hallmägi in summer of 1997 with Vahur Ambos who had established the law firm in 1996 in association with Andres Hallmägi. He is fluent in English and Russian.
